Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) Enrolment

Early learning and childcare (ELC) for some eligible 2 year olds and, 3 and 4 year olds:

Applying for an ELC place

2 Year Olds

2 year olds may be eligible for a funded place if parents meet the eligibility criteria. Once a child becomes entitled to early learning and childcare, they will stay entitled even if their parent becomes employed, or their situation with a parent or carers changes.
Once your child turns two you should apply for a nursery place during enrolment week. There are no catchment areas for nurseries so you should apply early to get the nursery of your choice.
We have a rolling program for enrolling two year old’s and application packs are available from the settings
To apply for your child's early learning and childcare (ELC2) place

3 and 4 year olds

Children born between 1 March 2012 and 28 February 2014 will be eligible for up to 600 hours of free Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) from August.2016
This is when you should apply for your child's ELC place for the following session. Full details will be available for all parents in time for the next year's enrolment. Enrolment week will be advertised in the local press, on our website and through our social media channels.

Deferred Entry to Primary 1

January or February birthdays:

Should you wish to defer your child’s entry to P1 please discuss this with the setting manager.

Settling your Child

We understand that some children find the transition to nursery a challenging time and we therefore encourage short visits to the Farmhouse Nursery prior to taking up their place. We are available to assist you and your child in becoming accustomed to the nursery.

Your Child's Development

A photographic record will be kept of your child's time at the nursery, which will be made available when your child leaves. You will also receive a regular newsletter and we post daily details on meals and sleep times at the nursery.

We have a behaviour and discipline policy in place and our staff promote positive behavious at all times.

Collection & Security

All children must be dropped off and collected within the nursery opening hours (7.30am to 6pm). Children will only be sent home with someone previously nominated by the parent or guardian.

Absence and Illness

If your child is absent due to holidays or illness, please do contact us to let us know. If your child becomes ill while at nursery, you will be informed immediately and asked to collect your child. Please do not bring your child to nursery if he or she is showing signs of infectious illness.
